THE EXPERIENCE
The 2nd Vortex Ignite Retreat was held in Rivas, Costa Rica.
From May 26th–31st, 2019, nine experienced teachers and facilitators gathered at the Finca Mia Retreat Center — high up in the foothills around Chirripo, Costa Rica's tallest volcano, in a beautiful national park — to guide an extraordinary group of men and women through the Vortex experience.

We have created a highly personalized and curated space, where leaders come to connect, play, rejuvenate and realign to their next-level version of themselves. The content of each Vortex retreat is crafted to meet the specific needs of the game-changers who attend.
Its aim is to facilitate an experience of deep presence, intimacy and safety, enabling a transformative journey built on a foundation of play. For this reason, each retreat will hold no more than 30 participants.

Learning
Over the course of the 365 days of the combined Vortex Ignite and Vortex 360 programs, significant and holistic learning - weighted towards experiential - is delivered and reinforced throughout the program. It is organized around the Six Vortex Principles, which are designed to guide participants to attain a significantly enhanced state of personal well-being and satisfaction with their lives, while building deep relationships.
COLLABORATION
Collaboration takes place throughout Vortex Ignite, is actively facilitated and curated through the Vortex 360 mastermind. Monthly full group calls; regular support calls with "Accountability Pods" of 5-6 participants; and regular rotation of participants spotlighted for the entire participant group to actively support, create an extraordinarily connected and "sticky" community.
PLAY
SacredPlay is a core principle of Vortex, as champions often sacrifice play for responsibility. And play that is joyful, creative, and inspirational is programmed into all Vortex programs and masterminds.
Following the retreat, all members are invited to Vortex 360, a bespoke year-long mastermind programme. Our core ethos is to support in every way possible your personal up-levelling, and we know that powerful transformative experiences need to be nurtured and grown to allow them to fully actualize.

Experience facilitators
Vortex facilitators are all highly experienced and leaders in their respective fields. They each bring significant insights gained from 20–40 years of global experience in their professional and personal development specialties, ranging from personal, career, and organizational development, to unconscious bias and deep seated judgements; to a range of health and wellness modalities; to ancient meditative, mantra, and yogic practices. They are outdoor adventurers, musicians, philosophers, and curators of joyfulness.

Vortex has been 33 years in the making. The initial concept was conceived in 1988, when Vortex Curator Chris Traub participated in a 3-month outdoor leadership wilderness training expedition in Alaska.

Nestled in the lush foothills of the Chirripo Mountain Reserve, sitting gracefully along the banks of the pristine Talari River, Finca Mia is an enchanting jungle retreat offering the perfect environment for us to switch off the distractions and stresses of everyday life and refocus our energies on nature and our place in the world.
